Has Saanich changed its mind again about collecting tolls for garden waste collection and disposal at its public works yard?
When the District of Saanich first proposed this idea there was such a hue and cry in opposition from the public that they seemed to reverse or at least defer that decision.
However, when I took our garden waste to the public works yard recently I discovered a newly constructed toll booth. It was not operational yet, but it looks like they are getting ready.
Is the district so desperate for funds for its shiny new public works yard that it has to impose yet another unfair tax on its residents?
