I read with interest the article on School District 63 focusing on mental well-being and inclusivity. Bravo and all the best. Another page tells of hungry kittens that need help to be fed. Raccoons and other wild animals need assistance.
On my heart today lies the burden of global well-being. We are part of the whole world and child poverty is so rampant resulting in illness and lack of education for our future.
Canada can continue to help globally. We know the critical role vaccines have played in saving lives and shaping public health in Canada. However, the threat of infectious diseases and tragedies they bring continue to prevail. Canada needs to continue to invest in key global health mechanisms like Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and the Polio Eradication Initiative.Polio was in my family. One member lives with a paralyzed face and post-polio syndrome. I urge us to be vigilant to do whatever it takes to eradicate this terrible affliction worldwide.
