I am disappointed that B.C. Premier David Eby refused to agree with other premiers in regards to the carbon tax increase. At the moment gasoline is $1.93 a litre, and according to the B.C. website, the carbon tax on April 1 will be 17 cents a litre. I don’t see the price at the pump coming down as summer is approaching, one of the oil companies’ excuses for an increase.
The home heating oil carbon tax is rising by 20 cents a litre. My 1,000-litre oil tank will now cost an additional $200 to fill.
For months I have been trying to figure out where this tax money is going. No politician will give a straight answer.
