Not so long ago I paid around $130 for teeth cleaning. I am not insured. My last cleaning, six months ago, cost $220. When I was reminded of my upcoming appointment I asked how much it would cost and was told $350.
It seems that since the dental plan was announced by the federal government the price has gone up at a rate that could only be called gouging. It’s shameful and many people will still not be able to afford healthy teeth.
There is no way I could pay $700 a year just for teeth cleaning. Even with the plan, the greater part would have to be covered by me.
It’s time to put a lid on the profit some professions are making.
