Congratulations to Kristine Marshall on winning the recent byelection for councillor in North Saanich and thank you to both Ryan Lay and Ramon Farmere for being willing to run.
That being said, I am dismayed by the fact that there was only a 16% turnout of eligible voters.
I certainly understand if people are put off by recent events and the current fractious behaviour we have experienced, but apathy doesn’t change anything.
As I see it, 84% of the residents of our municipality have given up the right to complain about any council decisions in the future.
