Like many people, I am absolutely devastated by the outcome of the U.S. election. The role the lies and spread of disinformation in social media played cannot be understated. There was very little fact-checking in an atmosphere of distrust created by fear of immigrants and of each other.
Canada’s electoral system may be different, but it is still imperative that we run our own election based on truth not perception.
