The residents of Leeds Place, Leeds Court, and Landis Place have all petitioned Saanich to help alleviate a traffic safety issue as we exit or enter Lodge Avenue. We have asked Saanich on several occasions to change one parking sign on the right side to a no parking sign...easy fix, right?
Saanich refuses, even though we have all had numerous close calls. There is very limited vision either entering or exiting. You basically have to hope no one is coming the other way as you thread the needle between cars parked on each side of the street. And when it snows, you have to take a run up the hill, which naturally makes your vehicle want to push to the right where cars are parked. This is an accident waiting to happen.
How can Saanich say they are 100% committed to road safety when they overlook our issue that we all want remedied? I will volunteer to take down the existing sign and put up the new one.
