Re: Wellness centre proposal draws mixed reactions (News, Feb. 15)

Looking at the possible rezoning of the lot on Murray Road as a loss is a shortsighted way to view it.

The parcel of land is not being used for its intended purposes anymore. It does not fit the needs of the community.

However, Tara Munro’s plan to build a health and wellness centre on the land fulfills our community’s needs.

Better access to health and wellness practitioners (massage therapists, acupuncture, etc.) would greatly benefit the people of Sooke.

The success of Sea to Tree in its present location shows the need that Sooke has for the services offered.

I support Tara Munro and her hopes to build a more accessible and significant health and wellness centre for Sooke and its residents.
