I would like to comment on David Willows' letter about the Aryze Developments affordable housing project in Central Saanich.
From what I have seen, Hovey Road residents do have a strong opinion to turn this application down. The reason they are giving through notices left on our door is that trees will be cut down and the sun will be taken away by a sixth storey.
The sad thing is the mayor and council are listening to that stupid reason. Nobody is concerned about providing accommodation for 60 seniors with no home. That should be the only issue when you're referring to Legion Manor. They have been trying for years to build a home for seniors.
I have my doctor, dentist and my hairdresser in Sidney, Why is the mayor not building services for this community? Why do we have to give all our money to Sidney? I think the mayor should open his eyes and build us a strong community, not a dead and useless one.
