LETTER: Speed bumps needed on CRD trails

E-bike riders travel at excessive speeds and pass pedestrians uncomfortably close

I read your article about the CRD park rangers and safety on trails.

I walk the E&N Rail Trail daily and worry about my safety. Most of the e-bike riders are passing pedestrians uncomfortably close and at excessive speeds. There have already been accidents because of this.

While I'm glad the CRD ambassadors are doing what they can about this, I realistically do not expect their efforts to change e-bike riders' behaviour or reduce the risks to public safety.

Maybe it's time we do the same thing we do with roads, and add speed bumps to the trails.
