I am a senior who uses the Spencer Road access to reach downtown Langford on a regular basis to shop and keep medical appointments. I do not own a car, (my choice). I walk for health reasons.
I think it is very inconsiderate on behalf of Langford city council to not have provided a safe and secure overpass before the decision to have the interchange installed. Many residents who live on the north side of the Trans-Canada Highway will be expected to travel up a very busy highway, then climb up a steep grade to access the Leigh Road interchange, and walk back on Goldstream Avenue to reach downtown Langford.
Why were grants from the federal and provincial
governments not applied for to construct an overpass at Spencer Road long before the interchange construction began?
