Water police doing a good job

Some months ago I received a ticket from a bylaw enforcement officer for watering outside of the restricted hours under the Stage One watering restrictions.

I was watering a newly seeded patch of lawn. While I didn’t flaunt the regulations, I knew I was watering outside of the allowable hours, but thought I was allowed to do it because it was grass seed.

What followed was a real lesson for me in how the Capital Regional District functions and, in fact, looks after our water supply. They are nothing short of professional and courteous in how they deal with transgressors such as myself. As we get closer to another season of the restrictions, I think we should all support the CRD’s efforts to both educate and enforce the bylaw.
