Big White Ski Resort will host the 66th World Airlines Ski Championships in 2027.

For the first time in seven years, Big White Ski Resort is set to host a prestigious international event.

From Feb. 27-March 5, 2027, the resort will host the 66th World Airlines Ski Championships (WASC), bringing more than 450 athletes from 30 airlines and 25 nations to town.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome back the World Airlines Ski Championships,” said Big White Ski Resort senior vice president Michael J Ballingall. “Hosting this event in 2020 was an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to once again showcase our world-class terrain, renowned Okanagan Champagne Powder, and vibrant resort atmosphere to airline ski teams from around the globe.”

The week-long event features four days of competition in alpine skiing (slalom & giant slalom), Nordic skiing (sprint and long distance), and snowboarding (snowboard cross), an event that was first introduced to the games when Big White last hosted the event in 2020.

"Welcoming the World Airlines Ski Championships back to Big White is an incredible opportunity for our hospitality team to shine," said Big White vice president of hospitality Trevor Hanna. "Our staff is committed to delivering top-tier service, from seamless accommodations to exceptional dining and après experiences. We’re looking forward to hosting the WASC once again to show the world what makes Big White a truly special destination."

On top of the competition, there will be many events and social gatherings to attend.
