Brock Boeser scored twice and helped on another, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 6-2 win over the visiting Winnipeg Jets Tuesday night at Rogers Arena.

Pius Suter (2), Drew O’Connor, Nils Hoglander also scored for Vancouver (32-25-11). Nikolaj Ehlers and Alex Iafallo replied for Winnipeg (47-15-4). Kevin Lankinen made 19 saves to earn the goaltending win, while Connor Hellebuyck stopped 16 shots for Winnipeg.

With the win, Vancouver remains tied with the St. Louis Blues for the final wildcard playoff spot in the NHL’s Western Conference. Vancouver has a game in hand. Winnipeg sits comfortably atop the league’s Central Division with 98 points.

The Canucks opened the scoring 4:55 into the first period, when O’Connor slotted home a feed from Quinn Hughes for his ninth goal of the year. Ehlers tied things at 1-1 10 minutes later, firing a shot from the deep slot past Lankinen.

Boeser scored his first of the night on a power play at 18:49 and Hoglander tallied his sixth of the year (off a nice three-way passing play with Boeser and centre Elias Pettersson) with just three seconds left in the period to make it 4-2.

Iafallo pulled the Jets within one seven minutes into the second, but goals from Boeser (his 20th of the year) and Suter (his 19th) less than a minute apart late in the period put the game out of reach. Suter found the empty net with four seconds left for his 20th goal.

Vancouver travels to St. Louis Thursday to start a six-game road swing with a huge game against the Blues. Winnipeg next visits the Edmonton Oilers, also on Thursday.

NOTES: Hughes finished with two assists and is one away from 50 on the season… Pettersson has eight points in his last seven games… The Canucks scored on their only power-play chance on the night, while the Jets went 0-for-2.
