The Victoria Eagles dropped its B.C. Premier Baseball League home opener last week, 2-0 to the Whalley Chiefs at Lambrick Park.
But the Eagles screamed ahead in the win column on Sunday with a sweep of the Parksville Royals in a double-header 4-1 and 11-1.
Six-foot-nine Eric Hegadoren pitched six complete innings, allowing one run in Game 1, with 15-year-old rookie Ethan Skuija getting his first save in the BCPBL. Riley Edmonds pitched all five innings of the abbreviated second game, which was cut short by mercy rule with the 10 run lead.
This Saturday (April 20) the Eagles host the Nanaimo Pirates, noon and 3 p.m. at Lambrick Park.
