Rookie goalie Eddie Lack will get the start for Vancouver on Sunday night, as the Canucks look to storm the Saddledome against the Calgary Flames, who have gotten off to a 1-0-1 start for the 2013/14 season.
Flames rookie centre Sean Monahan has put up two points in his first two games. The Canucks, meanwhile, are coming off a 6-2 shellacking of the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.
Lack will be making his first start and his first-ever appearance in a regular season NHL game tonight, after being the club's AHL goalie for a couple seasons, behind regular NHLers Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider.
"You know, I'm just very excited right now," Lack told Canucks.com's Joey Kenward on Sunday. "I feel like I've been working through this a long time, and just excited to get going here.
"It's pretty much the same. I always prepare as if I was going to play... I've been watching a little bit of (Flames) highlights. I don't know what team they're gonna start... but I'm just looking forward to getting underway here."
