The Powell River Kings have regained the mighty form which won them first place in the BCHL this season.
The Kings completed their comeback from a 3-1 series deficit to eliminate the Grizzlies on Wednesday night, winning 4-1 in Powell River.
The Grizzlies couldn't finish their early chances, including some wide open opportunities, and it caught up with them.
Dan Schuler scored twice for the Kings in the first period. The scored stayed 2-0 until the Grizzlies' Justin Fillion squeaked one past Michael Garteig, a buzzer beater with one second remaining in the second period.
The Grizzlies pressed hard for a third-period equalizer and nearly scored when disaster struck. A harmless puck came into the Grizzlies' zone but goalie Matt Ginn's clearing attempt went wayward, right to Carter Shinkaruk, who buried it for a 3-1 lead with less than three minutes remaining.
Schuler completed the hat trick with an empty netter in the last 13 seconds.
