Fans who admire the skill, strength, and athleticism of professional wrestling will get their fix when Wrestle Craze returns to Sooke.
The 365 Pro Wrestling production features a couple of main events, including Artimus Spencer versus Nathan Legacy in the Dream Match, and Nicole Matthews going up against Rose.
“They’re all well-established performers, and Nicole has wrestled with the WWE,” Mike Croy said. “There’s definitely going to be a lot of high-flying action in Sooke.”
The sport’s popularity on the rise up and down Vancouver Island, as evidenced by the size of crowds at recent 365 Pro Wrestling events in Duncan, Gold River, Campbell River and Courtenay, Croy noted.
Victoria consistently sells out, and attendance in Sooke increases with every event, aided by the popularity of local wrestler Josh Cadwell.
“Wrestling on Vancouver Island has been amazing, but wrestling in front of my hometown gets my heart pumping little bit more,” Cadwell said. “To see my family and friends, and people I haven’t seen in years in the crowd supporting me and my career means the world to me, and helping bring wrestling to Sooke, and the response from people all around town has been amazing. I’m glad that Sooke has become one of our main stops for 365 pro wrestling.”
Cadwell’s reputation is growing up and down the Island, added Croy, who spent 12 years as a devoted fan before taking over as the media liaison for 365 Pro Wrestling.
“I happily crossed over from being a fan to working with them,” he added with a chuckle.
The event takes place Saturday, April 6 at Sooke Community Hall at 2037 Shields Rd. Doors open at 6 p.m, with the first bell set for 7:30.
Tickets cost $30 for front row seats, $20 for general admission, and $15 for youth.
