Canada's top mountain bikers are gearing up to roll into Langford.

More than 500 participants and hundreds of spectators are expected from across the country and beyond for the 2025 Canadian Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships this month at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park.

Registration is now open for the event, which the city says will be the highlight of the Langford Bikefest – Vancouver Island’s premier off-road cycling celebration.

“The City of Langford has worked hard to develop world-class biking facilities that attract prestigious events such as the 2025 Canadian Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships,” said Mayor Scott Goodmanson in a news release.

“We look forward to welcoming athletes, families and fans to our city for an unforgettable week of competition and celebration.”

Across the four-day event, participants will compete for national titles in Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), Short Track (XCC) and Team Relay disciplines.

For emerging mountain bike stars or those new to the sport, Langford Bikefest will also offer racing experiences through various non-championship 'challenge' events.

“It’s important for us to put on an event that connects the dots between Olympians, youth and recreational mountain bikers,” said Jon Watkin, race director. “We are inviting cycling enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to take part and get a ‘World Cup’ style experience.”

The championship takes place July 17 to 20 at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park, located at 2990 Irwin Rd.
