Victoria Royals forward, Cole Reschny, has been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Seventeen-year-old Reschny recently attended a Team Canada development camp, where he secured his spot on the team. Eight other Western Hockey League (WHL) players will join him on the journey to the cup.

The 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, which is an annual international U18 tournament, will take place from Aug. 5 to 10 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alta. Canada will play Switzerland, Slovakia and Sweden in the round-robin portion of the tournament. Knock-out stages begin on Aug. 9.

The Macklin, Sask., local, enjoyed success during his first season with the Royals in 2023-24, tallying 21 goals and 38 assists for 59 points in 61 games played. His 59 points were the second most by any Royal during the season, helping him reach fifth in scoring among rookies in the WHL.
