The Western Hockey League today announced that Victoria Royals’ goaltender Jayden Sittler has been nominated by the WHL for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week.
Sittler, an 18-year-old from Red Deer, AB appeared in three games for the Royals this past week and registered a 2-0-0-0 record with a 0.71 goals against average (GAA), a 0.974 save percentage (SV%) and his first career WHL shutout.
In six games with Victoria this season Sittler has posted a 2-2-0-0 record with a GAA of 1.21, a SV% of 0.953 and one shutout.
The 6-0, 184 lb netminder was acquired earlier this season from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
Before Sittler joined the Royals he started the 2014-15 season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). He has played in six games for the Oil Barons, and recorded a 4-2-0 mark with a 2.79 GAA, a 0.907 SV% and one shutout.
