Runners are racing to register for the Oak Bay Half Marathon next spring.

Starting and finishing in Oak Bay’s Windsor Park, the 19th annual event in May 2025 includes a half marathon, 10-kilometre run, four-person relay and 1km kids run.

The stage is set for a sellout come May 2025 as the spring 2024 race saw a record 1,900 registrations – selling out weeks before race day.

Participants hail from across Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

“Running events nationally and internationally are seeing a post-COVID boom with races selling out, and we are no exception,” event manager Nick Walker said in a press release. “As a niche, community event we are extremely excited to see our numbers grow. Oak Bay provides a truly world-class route, with stunning views, and races that cater for all distances and abilities.”

Runners also raise funds for charity partners – Santas Anonymous and Easter Seals of British Columbia & Yukon.

Registration fees for early birds – which ends Dec. 28 – are $90 for the half, $60 for the 10k, $160 for the relay and $25 for the kids run.

Presented by Virgin Radio and Frontrunners, the race date is Sunday, May 25, 2025.
