Top of Pool B stays undefeated at day 5 of the Brier in Kelowna

The Montana's Brier continued at Prospera Place on Tuesday, March 4.

The top of Pool B was at the forefront of most of Tuesday's action at the 2025 Montana's Brier at Prospera Place in Kelowna, but some matches had huge implications throughout the day.

In Draws 10 and 12 (the morning and night slates), Team Alberta - Jacobs and Team Saskatchewan - McEwen each collected wins to remain undefeated, and at the top of Pool B. McEwen's team is 6-0 while Jacobs is 5-0. 

For Team Alberta - Jacobs, their Draw 10 win was massive as they beat Team Saskatchewan - Kleiter, who went 1-1 on the day. Their Draw 12 win came against Team Nova Scotia - Purcell, who are 2-3 at the Brier so far, seventh in Pool B heading into Wednesday.

Team Saskatchewan - McEwen beat Team Yukon - Scoffin (2-4) by the score of 7-5 in Draw 10 and handled Team Northwest Territories - Bartling 14-2 in Draw 12.

Despite a big loss in the morning, Team Saskatchewan - Kleiter responded with a huge 9-4 win over Team Ontario - Mooibroek in Draw 12. Both teams are 3-2 in the Pool B standings, sitting third and fourth.

Both Team Nova Scotia - Purcell and Team Northwest Territories - Bartling collected their March 4th wins against Team Prince Edward Island - Smith, who are 0-6.

Meanwhile, there were some massive results in Pool A, starting with Team Canada - Gushue and Team Manitoba - Dunstone, who both collected wins. Gushue and his team remain the only undefeated team in Pool A at 5-0 while Dunstone is 4-1, fourth in the very competitive division.

Maybe the biggest result in the pool on Tuesday as Team Manitoba - Carruthers beating Team Northern Ontario - Epping 8-6. The win was massive for Team Manitoba - Carruthers (5-1) as it propelled them to second in Pool A, ahead Team Northern Ontario - Epping (4-2).

Also, Team BC got their first win of the tournament, beating Team Nunavut - Latimer.

The Brier's round-robin action continues throughout the day on Wednesdays with Draws 13, 14, and 15 at 8:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. at Prospera Place.
