The Victoria HarbourCats have advanced to the West Coast League North Division ­final.

The HarbourCats picked up a series sweep in front of the home crowd at Royal Athletic Park after defeating the Wenatchee AppleSox 4-2 in Game 2 on Wednesday. (Aug. 9). Victoria came away with an impressive 6-2 win in game 1 Tuesday on the road.

The HarbourCats started slow and didn’t have a hit until the sixth inning when Marco Pirrucello hit a triple. He was promptly brought home by an RBI double from ­Hudson Shupe. Tripp Clark secured the win with a two-run homer.

The one-game division championship will take place in Victoria at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, with the Bellingham Bells are coming to town after sweeping their series against the Kelowna Falcons. The Bells won Game 2 Wednesday 5-3.

The winner of the divisional final will punch their ticket to the one-game West Coast League final Monday. If they advance, the HarbourCats would host the league championship game if anyone but the Corvallis Knights make it to the final.
