Cumberland's Dodge City X off-road triathlon is one of four races featured in the new BC X Tri Race series, put on by Triathlon BC.
"Triathlon BC is thrilled to announce the 2025 launch of the BC X Tri Series, an exciting new off-road triathlon series featuring the best of British Columbia O@-Road Triathlon. This four-race series brings together British Columbia’s most iconic off-road locations, offering participants an unforgettable mix of endurance, adventure, and natural beauty while showcasing B.C.’s world class off-road triathlon locations," a release from Triathlon BC says.
The series starts off in Squamish for the Squamish Off-Road Triathlon on June 7, 2025. The next race is XTERRA Victoria on July 6, followed by Dodge City X in Cumberland on Sept. 6, and finishing off with the Whistler X Tri on Sept. 14.
The races are designed to "test competitors' skills and stamina," the press release says. Each one will combine open-water swimming, technical mountain bike racing, and rugged trail runs. Competitors in the series will need to race three of the four events, and points from all four will go towards the final series standings. Organizers say this will give racers more motivation to attend all four races. The series awards will be presented after the final race in Whistler.
“The launch of the BC X Tri Series is an incredible way to highlight British Columbia’s stunning landscapes and exceptional network of trails, while advancing the sport of O@- Road Triathlon across our province,” said Allan Prazsky, Executive Director of Triathlon BC. “We look forward to athletes of all abilities embracing this challenge and making the inaugural series truly unforgettable.”
Registration is now open for all four races, participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spots. For further details and updates, visit triathlonbc.org.
