Get your fill of puppy love with the Howliday campaign from British Columbia hotelier Accent Inns and BC Humane Society.

The BC Humane Society will be touring the province with adoptable animals and is inviting the communities of Kamloops, Kelowna, Burnaby and Victoria to meet and play with puppies in the lobbies of Accent Inn hotels.

Mandy Farmer, CEO of Accent Inns said last year’s Howlidays generated more than $10,000 in support by donating a percentage of funds during seasonal hotel stays.

“We are excited to expand the initiative, providing the BC Humane Society with more avenues to reach potential foster families across B.C. and raise even more essential funds for the well-being of these animals this season.”

The free puppy playdates will take place from Dec. 5 to 8.

Executive director of the BC Humane Society, Penny Stone, said more than 1,000 dogs and puppies have gone through their doors this year.

“This is the most pressing situation we’ve faced in two decades. With an influx of ‘pandemic pets’ abandoned during the stay-at-home years and an increasing number of unlicensed breeders relinquishing entire litters, fostering is an urgent need to provide these dogs with the care they deserve until permanent homes can be found.”

The Howliday campaign will also teach the public about animal fostering opportunities and collect monetary donations to help animals in need. Accent Inns has committed to donating 10 per cent of every leisure stay in the month of December to the BC Humane Society.
