Comox's staple Filberg Festival celebrating its 40th anniversary

Comox's Filberg Festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary from Aug. 2 to 4. The three-day event will showcase the talents of more than 120 artisans and musicians.

Everyone in the Comox Valley and beyond is invited to a weekend of celebration as Comox's Filberg Park gears up to host the 40th annual Filberg Festival from Aug. 2 to 4.

This year, the Filberg Festival continues its tradition of showcasing Canadian and international talents alongside more than 120 artisans including fine artists, metalworkers, potters, woodworkers, jewellers, and glassmakers, among many others.

Musical highlights will include performances by renowned artists such as Joel Plaskett featuring Mo Kenney, Blue Moon Marquee,  Black Belt Eagle Scout, Kim Churchill, Thrasher & Saddleback, and many more. 

From folk to blues, indie to roots, the festival promises a diverse musical experience for all attendees.

In addition to this extensive music lineup, the Filberg Festival offers a wide array of culinary options paired with Vancouver Island's finest beers, wines, and ciders, available throughout the site. 

Filberg Park executive director Linda Thomas expressed her anticipation for this year's festival. 

"We look forward to welcoming our community and visitors for the Filberg Festival’s 40th Anniversary,” said Thomas. “The festival has continued to grow and we are excited to showcase so many loved artisans and musicians, (as well as) creating a memorable weekend for all those in attendance."
