Mr. Banks is 1,100 pounds of love and now you could be the proud owner of a portrait of him and help out where the pig lives at Critteraid animal sanctuary in Summerland.
This weekend the well loved big pig celebrated his birthday with some belly rubs, a nap and some of his favourite foods.
Mr. Banks has long won the hearts of volunteers who care for him at the Citteraid farm where he came to live in 2017. That includes volunteer Jill Pelland who painted a portrait of Mr. Banks that now hangs on the wall at the Summerland Credit Union. The artwork is up for sale with 100 per cent of the purchase price being donated to Critteraid.
Banksy, is among other Pelland paintings on display and available for purchase at the Summerland Credit Union.
Mr. Banks came to live in Critteraid when he got too big for his owners to care for him properly, especially during the winter months.
Since then, Mr. Banks has become the unofficial welcoming committee, happy to vocalize his hello to all visitors and keep the volunteers entertained.
Happy birthday big boy, said the volunteers at Critteraid.
