The 2024 Summer Olympics are taking place in Paris from July 26 to Aug. 11.
This year, 10,714 athletes from 206 nations will compete in 32 sports.

Pierre de Coubertin, co-founder of the modern Olympic Games, said participation is an important part of this sporting challenge. “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well,“ the Olympic creed states.
