'What a thrill': Kelowna senior parasails her way into 95th birthday

It's the second time on her 90's that Lee Prunkl has gone parasailing on her birthday

How would you celebrate your 95th birthday?

For Kelowna's Lee Prunkl, she spent Saturday morning (Sept. 28) on Okanagan Lake, going parasailing on her big day for the second time in three years.

"What a thrill, oh my gosh I can't believe I did that at my age, it was wonderful," said Prunkl after the experience.

Two years ago, Prunkl was given the parasailing experience as a gift from the staff at Dorchester Retirement Residence, where she lives.

This year, the topic of parasailing was brought up, and while she was nervous, her family bought her the experience to go again. On Saturday, she went on a double sail with family member Troy Mamchur, who's also a member of the Kelowna Fire Department.

When asked why she went parasailing for a second time, Prunkl said at her age, she's lucky that she did.

As for doing it for a third time for her 96th birthday next year?

"Never know what the future holds," said Prunkl.

Sue Alexander, Prunkl's youngest daughter joked, saying they'll go bungee jumping for Prunkl's 100th birthday.
