Greater Victoria foodie event introduces breakfast, lunch specials

Dine Around and Stay in Town gala kicks off annual foodie event Jan. 23

A tasty new year returns with a vibrant mix of restaurants and a place to stay, with the 2025 Dine Around and Stay in Town.

"For more than 20 years, this popular culinary festival has showcased the creativity of the region’s leading chefs,” said Peter DeBruyn, provincial chair, BC Restaurant and Food Services Association – Victoria Chapter. “This year's specially curated menus will feature some of the best farmed and foraged ingredients the region has to offer – a treat for locals and visitors alike.”

One of Greater Victoria’s most anticipated culinary events, the annual foodie festival expects 50 restaurants to cook up three-course menus priced at six price points this year – $25, $35, $45, $55, $65 and $75 per person. New this year, special breakfast, brunch and lunch menus are added to the usual dinner fare.

Hotels are also offering special rates for accommodation ranging from $139 to $259, building an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to support the local hospitality industry by eating out and making a night of it.

New participating restaurants include Bin 4 Burger Lounge, Rudi, Table 19, Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse, Saxe Point Public House, and Jacks on the Water. Days Inn on the Harbour joins the accommodation list.

Recognizing January is typically a slower period for Greater Victoria's hospitality industry, the Dine Around and Stay in Town program provides an opportunity to increase customer traffic.

“During off-peak times, events like Dine Around and Stay in Town play an important role in supporting restaurants and hotels as well as the broader visitor economy in Greater Victoria,” Destination Greater Victoria CEO Paul Nursey said in a news release. “Every visitor counts during the slower winter months. By highlighting the region's culinary scene and accommodations, this event invites both locals and visitors to experience the unique offerings of our destination. Such events have a lasting impact on the community.”

Dine Around and Stay in Town runs Jan. 24 to Feb. 9, 2025.
