HoneyBadger Charging says it’s hit a milestone by installing its first public electric vehicle charging station in Greater Victoria.
The EV station’s address is 1854 Emery Pl. in Saanich.
“As the founder of HoneyBadger Charging, Andrew Johns came up with the idea to install an EV charging station at UVic because he strongly believes in the transformative power of electric vehicles and the importance of creating a sustainable future,” says a news release.
“The premise of his idea started during a road trip across B.C., where he found that the charging infrastructure is considerably constrained, having minimal places to charge his electric vehicle. Being a UVic alumnus, he saw an opportunity to make a positive impact on the university community and Vancouver Island by providing convenient access to EV charging infrastructure”.
Johns envisions a landscape adorned with an extensive web of charging stations, strategically placed to facilitate the adoption of sustainable modes of travel.
“We envision a country crisscrossed with a robust network of charging stations, empowering drivers to embrace sustainable transportation and shape their journey towards a greener tomorrow,” said Johns, in a statement. “Launching our first public charging station right next to my alma mater fills me with pride and excitement. It’s a testament to the power of education and determination to drive positive change.”
