Exchanging garden shovels for snow shovels wasn't enough.
Bosa Properties ground breaking for its 21-storey condominium project, Promontory at Bayview Place in Esquimalt, and cheque presentation to the James Bay Community Project for its Mom’s and Babes program was delayed due to snow last week.
However, with food in place for the celebration and a $10,000 cheque in hand, Bosa Properties senior vice-president Daryl Simpson paid a surprise visit to the James Bay Community Project armed with a snow shovel and boxes of food.
"We were stunned and amazed and pleased by this," said Helen Tuele, executive assistant for the James Bay Community Project. "It was kind of creative of them."
Simpson made the cheque presentation, helped shovel the parking lot and donated the food to the project's emergency food cupboard.
