Green Island Builders is a workplace culture champion among B.C. construction businesses.
The Victoria business won in the small-medium size company category at the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) Builders Code 2025 Champion Awards.
The awards coincide with Construction & Skilled Trades Month in B.C. – now in its eighth year. It's a time when B.C.’s construction industry celebrates the hard work and commitment of the 28,000-plus businesses and more than 250,000 British Columbians who ensure the province is built strong and built right. This month is an opportunity to recognize their achievements, starting with the BCCA Builders Code 2025 Champion Award Winners, recognized for making a positive difference in advancing the culture of B.C.’s construction industry.
“We want to extend a special thank you to all the hard-working individuals who make B.C.’s construction industry the powerhouse it is,” BCCA president Chris Atchison said in a news release. “This month, and every month, we celebrate the incredible efforts of the businesses and builders who make the development and growth of our province possible.”
The BCCA, a non-partisan and non-profit organization, works with four regional associations to serve more than 10,000 employers in the province’s construction industry regardless of labour affiliation. It advocates on behalf of all employers to ensure the sector remains productive and resilient.
CGI Constructors is the only other Victoria company to earn a nod, with an honourable mention.
