Couches featuring built-in storage, clutter-cutting devices and smart appliances that can be turned on remotely are all hot pieces in the home improvement realm.
The in-demand items reflect a trend where people are seeking out products that make life more affordable and organized, said Darcy Hope, president of Evergreen Exhibitions.
The Victoria Home, Reno and Decor Show hopes to be a one-stop shop for people looking to find the latest products and home-improvement information when it returns to Pearkes Recreation Centre from Feb. 23-25.
The best thing about the Evergreen Exhibitions-run show is the ability to see so much in a single location, which saves people from going to multiple places all over town, said Hope.
“It’s like a mall for home improvement.”
Beyond services, samples and advice, the show includes interactive and demonstration booths, exclusive products and special trade-show prices.
Readying homes with next-generation technology will also be showcased as attendees can learn about solar panels, installing electric-vehicle car chargers, new heating and cooling retrofits and more.
Utility companies like BC Hydro and FortisBC will be answering questions and instructing people on how to navigate rebates and incentives available for switching to more efficient appliances.
Sustainable products and services are top of mind for people, but there are a lot of questions since they’re an emerging market, Hope said.
“With so much out there and not a lot of history with some of the products, people want to gather as much info as possible over the coming years,” she said.
The home show will have free admission and parking. More information can be found at homeshowtime.com/spring-shows/victoria-home-renovation-decor-show.
