Artists display their talents along the shores of Oak Bay creek

Next month, an art show will return to the banks of Bowker Creek.

On Sunday, Aug. 10, the Bowker Creek Brush-Up Art Show and Sale will take place for the 25th time. 

The event is slated for the Bowker Creek Walkway, between Hampshire Road and Armstrong Avenue, with parking on Hampshire Road or at Oak Bay High, The show runs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Oak Bay Community Artists Society, the free gathering will boast over 50 artists and community displays.

Fun activities, a fundraising barbecue, live music by youth musicians and a Recreation Oak Bay kids’ art tent will also mark the peaceful stretch of the waterway, as creatives demonstrate and sell their artworks. 

“We hope the community will come out to celebrate the 25th anniversary with us this year and help make it the best Brush-Up yet,” Oak Bay Community Artists Society president Flo-Elle Watson said in a news release. “There is a lot of variety and plenty of entertainment at the event.”
