A group of friends who all paint and show in galleries have made it a tradition to get together every Monday for the last 10 years to paint in a different location each week. On Monday, that location was Oak Bay Avenue.
“Sometimes it is the beach. Sometimes it is a street scene like today,” says artist Deborah Tilby.
The group, which is not an artists collective but a group of friends that have “known each other forever” and enjoy painting together, consists of Ken Faulks, Adam Noonan, Deborah Tilby, Brian Bolli, Deborah Czernecky, John Pryce, and Jim McFarland.
“We take turns picking the location,” says Ken Faulks. “On Sundays an email goes around with where we are going to paint the next day.”
Faulks jokes that the selection process keeps squabbling to a minimum.
