The festivities are free, and tickets on sale for the fragrant simmering pots of B.C. Dungeness crab, clams, mussels, corn and potatoes that will fill Banfield Park in VicWest this weekend.
The Authentic British Columbia Dungeness Crab Boil runs July 13 from noon to 7 p.m. with three crab boil sessions at noon, 2 and 4 p.m.
Tickets sell out fast for the feast that supports vital local organizations, according to event organizer Heather MacLeod. “We are thrilled to partner with the Vic West Community Center and Reciprocity Trusts, celebrating community spirit and cultural connections, as well as sharing our generational family legacy and tradition of an authentic summertime crab boil,” MacLeod said in a news release.
Aside from the ticketed crab boil feast, attendees can enjoy other food, vendors, community organizations, live entertainment, a kid zone and an educational marketplace with organizations such as the B.C. Crab Fisherman Association, Surfrider Foundation and The Gorge Waterway Action Society.
