Easter Seals boat festival raises $24,000

The event took place at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club with about 200 people participating

The 16th annual Easter Seals Festival of Boats on Sept. 10 raised $24,000 for Vancouver Island children with disabilities.

The event took place at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club with about 200 people participating.

Sponsors included the yacht club, Mount Gay Rum, Pacific Yachting, Thrifty Foods, Caorda Web Solution and Seaquest Explorations.

The Easter Seals is a project of the B.C. Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. All proceeds remain on Vancouver Island.
