Tracey Gibson is an executive coach with Inspired Results Group, and loves creating family time amongst the “chaos” of life with husband Peter Dumbelton and children Beth and Travis.

Q How do you find time for “you” outside of being a “mom”?

A It is not always easy, however my husband and I really believe that when we make time for a run, or walk, or just getting together with friends that we are better parents, better partners and can function with the demands of life. My kids also know that when mom needs a run that she will come back a happier mommy which makes them happy!

Q What are you reading right now? How about with your kids?

A I love reading, especially before bed. Recently I’ve been picking books that just don’t make me think. I just finished reading Nora Roberts’ Heart of the Sea. Right now we are reading Harry Potter with the kids every night before they go to bed. We are currently on book No. 3 and we are all enjoying the excitement, adventure and suspense.

Q What is your favourite family activity to share together?

A Every Friday night at our house is Nacho Friday.  We sit down with nachos (and veggies), watch a movie and connect after a full week of activities, work and school. We check in about what was your favorite part of the week and the answer is always the same “Nacho Friday.” If for some reason we miss it, we have to make it up another night. It is our time to connect and be together.

Q The part of your day you look forward to the most?

A After we finish reading books at night, I love tucking the kids into bed. It is here that I get lots of snuggles, hugs, kisses and I love you’s.  It is also a time when I get little extra nuggets of what happened in their day (they think it is a delay tactic, and I treasure the extra information). I also love this time, as I know a cup of tea is waiting for me and a little TV time awaits.
