Fernwood's FernFest offers music, kids events and community pancake breakfast

The 19th annual summer neighbourhood festival coincides with summer solstice June 20 and 21

FernFest is back for its 19th year in Fernwood Square and on the Vic High school grounds.

The annual free summer solstice festival brings together neighbours and businesses for a two-day party, beginning Friday, June 20 at 5 p.m. with live music and artisan booths in Fernwood Square.

Kids activities can be found in the Field of Dreams on the nearby Vic High grounds. Balloon twisting, tie dye, a cardboard castle, face-painting and storytellers will entertain.

On June 21, wake up for a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. from the Fernwood Inn before checking out more than 40 artisans and vendors.
