Summer at Ship Point is on its way, bringing food, drinks and music to Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

From June 11 to Sept. 19, Ship Point transforms into a recreational, arts and cultural community hub on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, said the City of Victoria

Free one-hour wellness classes such as yoga or full-body boot camps are offered between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. From 4 to 8 p.m., local food trucks will be on the premises with live music performed on the OUR DWTN stage.

Victoria Beer Society’s beer garden runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m.

Free music performances occur Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. with Latin rhythms, Motown and R&B to jazz, blues and folk on the lineups.

On select evenings, there will be special performances and programming, including free dance lessons by the city’s Artist in Residence Kemi Craig, a drag show presented by Left Coast Drag Collective and Bad Rabbit Radio broadcasting live with DJ Nova Jade.

Ship Point now has an expanded green space and new overhead lighting, and this year there will be Adirondack seating, planters, shade umbrellas and outdoor games such as giant chess, hula hoops and giant Jenga.

Summer at Ship Point is put on by OUR DWTN, the city’s revitalization program that invests in the downtown core with a focus on beautification, programming, cleaning, enhanced safety and the activation of downtown spaces.

Visitors can pick up a Summer at Ship Point stamp card from the site host and collect stamps to enter to win a gift card or prize pack. For details, visit victoria.ca/OurDWTN.
