Our Place Society has received a significant boost for its lunch program, thanks to a donation by a local tourism group.
The Hotel Association of Greater Victoria, which represents 48 hotels in the region, recently donated $7,800 to Our Place to help cover the cost of nutritious lunches for the hundreds of guests who rely on the society for a meal every day.
Last week, the hotel association presented Our Place with the cheque, while hospitality industry general managers assisted with serving lunch. The hotel association hopes its donation will encourage other local businesses to donate funds to help offset the cost of meals for Our Place family members.
