For avid bookworms and those looking to read more books this summer, the Greater Victoria Public Library offers its annual Summer Reading Club reading record programs for children 12 and under.
Starting June 27, young readers can pick up a free, specially designed chart for keeping track of how much they read this summer. Weekly prizes are available at local library branches.
“In 2012 we gave out 6,000 reading records and we expect the program to continue to grow,” Tracy Kendrick, GVPL's co-ordinator of children’s and teen services, said in a release. "Families love the weekly prizes which help keep kids motivated to read all summer."
