Langford's Music in the Park returns on July 7.

From July 7 to August 25, the City of Langford will offer free music every Sunday between 2 to 4 p.m at Veterans Memorial as a part of their annual Music in the Park festival.

From classic rock to Latin beats, no matter your musical tastes, the festival will offer tunes to satisfy your cravings.

Here is this year’s lineup:

● July 7 - Cooler;
● July 14 - Freeze Frame;
● July 21 - Tom Morrissey Band;
● July 28 - The Men in Black;
● Aug. 4 - Los Amigos;
● Aug. 11 - Phoenix YYJ;
● Aug. 18 - Aftershock;
● Aug. 25 - Late Shift.

“You get a real cross section of age,” says Peter Willing, who has been organizing the event for two decades. “It’s really quite fun.”

The event is family friendly, and there is a splash park and playground nearby.

“You can look out at the audience, whether at people dancing or sitting back, and they’re having a great time,” says Willing. “It just warms the soul.”

The organizer adds that the weekly music festival is synonymous with summers in Langford.

“It’s become ingrained in the community,” Willing added. “People look forward to coming out on a Sunday, relaxing and enjoying music for a couple of hours.”

The festival is popular and Veterans Memorial fills up quickly, so, for prime views of the stage, make sure to arrive early.

And don’t forget to bring your appetite. The local legion will sell hot dogs, chips and pop, the proceeds of which it will donate to kids community programs.
