Lower Mainland condo just part of prize home package helping sick kids

Choices Lottery 2025 features 11 grand prizes; one includes two homes – one in Langley and one in Big White

The newest BC Children's Hospital lottery features a luxury Langley condo, as well as a home in Big White – all bundled together for one lucky winner.

Choices Lottery recently launched its 2025 fundraiser, and one of the 11 grand prizes that can be selected by this year's winner is a $2.6-million package featuring the two homes, as well as $50,000 in furniture, two new vehicles, gas and groceries for a year, plus $700,000 in cash.

Of all the prize package available to pick from this year, the one with the Langley prize home is the only one that offers more than one residence.

In the local package, the prize home is located at 7898 199 St., in Willoughby – in the evolving Jericho neighbourhood at 200 Street and 80 Avenue.

It's a 774-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom modern condo, with one parking spot in Jericho Park, explained Essence Properties managing director Seeta Dhaliwal. Currently under construction as part of the 385-home, phase 1 of Jericho, it is expected to be complete in late 2027.

"We have broken ground on the project and are looking forward to crane installation in the coming weeks," Dhaliwal said, explaining that this phase of the 12-acre Jericho community will feature four six-storey wood-frame buildings with a variety of one- to three-bedroom and den layouts to suit different lifestyles.

This condo also features a private balcony, open concept kitchen-living-dining space, and quality finishes that don’t compromise style. The open-concept design creates a bright, inviting space ideal for both relaxing and entertaining.

"It’s tough to pick just one favourite feature because there are so many great things about the Willoughby condo. But if I had to choose, I’d say the functional layouts of the kitchens really stand out. They’re perfect for entertaining with plenty of space, and they come with great add-ons that make cooking and hosting a breeze," she enthused.

Jericho Park residents will also have access to a 3,920-square-foot multi-functional amenities club, which includes a large social lounge, fully equipped fitness centre, multi-purpose room, work/study room, and a sports simulator room. There's also more than 22,000 square feet of outdoor amenities, including a rooftop terrace with garden plots and loungers, a barbecue area, kids’ play area, dog walks, waterfall feature, and several seating areas for gatherings.

"Not only is this condo a great investment opportunity in a thriving yet growing neighbourhood, but it is also going to be a wonderful place to live. Its prime location offers easy access to shopping, dining, and parks while the on-site amenities are second to none. Plus, the master-planned community will continue to grow, offering even more amenities, shops, and services for years to come," Dhaliwal added.

This is not Essence's first prize home offering, but it is the Surrey company's first project with BC Children's Hospital.

"We decided to work with them on this lottery because it was a great way for us to get involved with a cause that really matters. Jericho Park is such a fantastic project, and partnering on this lottery allowed us to contribute to something meaningful while showcasing a community that we’re really proud of," Dhaliwal said.

"We chose this project because Jericho Park has already been a huge success and well-received by the community, leading us to believe it will appeal to many other people. The homes are modern yet timeless, functional, and in a prime location, making them perfect for anyone looking to upsize, downsize, invest, or purchase their first home. The community will be vibrant with many indoor and outdoor amenities along with shops and services, making it an exciting place to be. We’re confident that it’s the kind of home that will stand out as a lottery prize," Dhaliwal commented.

"This home gives the winner a chance to live in a thriving, well-connected neighbourhood while enjoying the modern comforts of a new home," she said. But that's not all.

There's also a "vacation home" that comes with the deal.

The home near Big White Ski Resort, in Glades Ski Villa, has three bedrooms plus a flex room, plus three bathrooms in 1,863 sq. ft. in an open design concept. It allows ski-in and ski-out access to the mountain.

Other grand prize packages feature homes in Vancouver, South Surrey, Coquitlam, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Courtenay, or Sooke. And one prize option is $2.3 million in tax-free cash.

Tickets are on sale until April 12, or until they sell out. Last year, the lottery sold out early, with the 2024 Choices winner from Victoria taking the cash option versus a home package.

Tickets are sold in three-packs for $100, six-packs for $175, nine-packs for $250, and 20-packs for $500, and available online at bcchildren.com, by phone at 604-692-2333, or in person at London Drugs and Save-On-Foods locations.

Choices Lottery supports world-leading research initiatives that lead to innovative discoveries and treatments, which in turn directly help experts at BC Children’s Hospital advance their quest to conquer childhood illnesses.

Whether it’s kidney failure, cancer, heart disease, or brain health, there are hundreds of health experts tirelessly delivering care and more than 1,500 research community members working to solve the biggest questions remaining in child health. Lottery funds help accelerate the pace of research, turning discoveries into life-saving treatments and helping more kids get back to being kids, said Malcolm Berry, president and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

"By purchasing a Choices Lottery ticket, you’re advancing pediatric research and care at BC Children’s Hospital,” he concluded.
