An Oak Bay man is happy to report tracking down ownership of a basket full of memories found soggy on an Oak Bay beach earlier this week.
On Sunday (Aug. 18) night Michael Cunliffe was out walking his dog along McNeill Bay when he found the picnic basket full of old photos, albums, ornaments and documents. Unfortunately they had been rained on already and many of the pictures are stuck together, he told the Oak Bay News.
“There are a lot of memories in this basket,” he said.
With few leads, he posted images online hoping someone would see the images, and help get the bundle back to its rightful place.
Letters from the 1990s did bear some names and eventually he located an address that lead to finding the owners.
