The 13th annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge will be held at Mayfair Shopping Centre on Oct. 4.
Presented by Vancouver Island Health Authority and the Greater Victoria Public Library, the purpose of this global event is to set the world record for the most children breastfeeding simultaneously.
Island Health’s public health nurses and dietitians, along with library staff, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about breastfeeding and early literacy. There will be a prizes, sampling and fun activities.
Admission is free.
Registration for the breastfeeding challenge begins at 10 a.m., followed by story time at 10:30 a.m. by library staff and the official “latch on” at 11 a.m.
