The District of Saanich will close access to the summit of PKOLS (Mount Douglas) on March 19 for planned exploratory work related to a telecommunications tower replacement project.

The parking lot gate at the base of Churchill Drive will be closed for the day, and Glendenning Trail leading to the summit will also be off-limits. Pedestrians are advised to use caution in the area, as large equipment will be in use.

The district says staff will be on-site to monitor the work and ensure public safety.

For more information on the project, residents can visit the district’s website.
