VIDEO: Party animals – Victoria's Beacon Hill Children's Farm turns 40

June 12 event includes morning goat run and special anniversary evening stampede

Celebrate with baby goats, birds galore and more as the Beacon Hill Children’s Farm turns 40.

Owners and staff at the the downtown Victoria petting zoo invite everyone to come along and help celebrate “being a cherished community space – a haven for animals, and a place where people of all ages learn, connect and enjoy a piece of farm life in the city.”

The day-long June 12 celebration includes activities for all ages such as a scavenger hunt, stamp books, colouring pages, story time, farm photo displays and fascinating animal talks.

“This is a celebration of building and maintaining something very special together. Over many years the Koenders family and Beacon Hill Farm Society, many staff members, countless volunteers and our supportive community have made this unique little farm the amazing place that it is,” the farm said in a news release.

Beacon Hill Children’s Farm opens at 10 a.m. with the goat run shortly after and closes at 5 p.m. with a special anniversary goat stampede at 5:10.
